  2. Hi,
Really nice example you have! Great info!!!
Just wondering if you know of any “imported” Bond, or other Enfields that were carbine length? I have come across one in North Fl. That is marked with a JS Anchor on the rt. side of the receiver plate(faintly) and I have not gone back to look at other markings since I have read your description of the other marks. Owner states that it was made or cut down in a carbine version for the Confederate Navy…I think not….He is seeing the JS Anchor and is assuming Navy. I believe it to be a cut-down rifle. It is nicely done and has the original Alligator sling, which I believe to be native to the carbine and Fla.
Until I go give it a close examination I don’t have any further info. I noted that the rear sight seems odd in that it is like “fixed” stairs, with rangers on each step. Strange.
Where there any Enfield produced carbines for the Confederacy? Going to look for the Bond markings.
    Thanks, Joe
